Effectively managing a seamless supply chain and the many transportation and logistics initiatives that support the food chain can be a tremendous responsibility. Countless professionals are bringing their intelligence, experience, innovation and creativity every day to help their companies succeed.

The “Top Food Chain Pros to Know” by Food Chain Digest, the official magazine of Food Shippers of America, is a recognition program that spotlights influential industry worthy industry leaders whose achievements, resourcefulness, leadership and vision have shaped the food supply chain of their enterprise. In Edition 1 of Food Chain Digest, we will feature these “Top Food Chain Pros to Know.” Nominate an individual who is worthy of this distinction by describing rational for the nomination, skills the individual brings to the table, and recent accomplishments in their career during the past 12-18 months. 

IMPORTANT: Make sure to carefully review your nomination prior to making a final submission. Incorrect information and multiple errors will disqualify the application. Food Chain Digest staff may edit content prior to publication. Information provided in the nomination may be used in print and online. Food Chain Digest is not held responsible for publishing information that has been incorrectly submitted in the nomination process.

  • Nominees must be supply chain professionals (and/or involved in specific transportation, logistics, distribution roles) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industry. This can include executives, operators, managers or other roles with a food company (manufacturer, distributor, retailer, processor, wholesaler, cooperative, etc.) This also can include providers such as 3PLs, carriers (all modes), technology companies, consultants, educators, etc.
  • There is no cost for nominations and applicants do not need to be members of Food Shippers of America.
  • Nominations must be completed in full to be considered. Incomplete submissions or those with incorrect information will be disqualified. All nominations must be submitted electronically.
  • Limit up to three nominations per organization. Self-nominations are acceptable.
  • Nominations are vetted by Food Chain Digest staff and final approval is made by Food Shippers of America.

What’s the nomination timeframe?
Nominations are due in January. Recipients of this award will be featured in Edition 1 of Food Chain Digest, which will be published in February.

Criteria for Nominations
Criteria used to identify qualified applicants will be the following, so be prepared to incorporate this into the online nomination form (no more than 250 words in each of these three fields):

  • Rationale for Nomination
  • Nominee/Candidate Contact Information (Name, Title, Email, Phone, Company, Company Website, Nominee Handles for LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, if available)
  • Primary roles/responsibilities for the nominee in their current role
  • Briefly describe the nominee’s career history within the food industry as well as relevant education
  • Describe what makes the nominee a quality candidate for being named as a “Top Food Chain Pro to Know?”
  • Describe significant accomplishments the nominee has made in the past 12-18 months. Describe the impact or relevant details of those achievements (maximum 400 words)
  • Contact information on Individual Completing Nomination (self-applications are acceptable)
